WHAT IS MEDIEVAL FUR'S GOALS?
Medieval fur's mission is to bring inspiration and creativity to larpers through animal bones and furs and help control the faun population of Canada. Working with and through Quebec Fur Trappers, we supply passionate roleplayers and medieval enthusiasts with costuming equipment.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR ANIMAL FURS AND ANIMAL SKINS?
Medieval Fur works closely with the Native-American community and other Canadian and Quebec Fur Trappers. Medieval Fur only buys legal furs and skins from licensed fur traders. We care about the animals as much as you do and we need to have a healthy animal population to ensure the survival of the species so other generations can enjoy the advantages of Canadian Wildlife.

CAN YOU HUNT FOXES IN CANADA?
The fox is considered a small game species that can be hunted in Quebec and Canada. The red fox is a common species throughout Canada, with populations in all of the provinces and territories. While most red foxes have red fur, other color variations may occur, including brown and black. Silver foxes are red foxes that are almost entirely black but with white-tipped hairs, while cross foxes are red foxes that are brown with patches of red fur and black stripes on the back and shoulders. To help control the rise of population, Canada issues permits to hunters who then supply us with the pelts, furs, and bones.
Boris is not as sly as Fox but he tries!

The Canadian coyote stands about 60 cm (24 inches) tall at its shoulder, The coyote weighs between 10–24 kg (21–52 pounds), and is about 1–1.3 meters (3.3–4.3 feet) long, including its 30–40-cm tail. IS CANADIAN COYOTE FUR SOFT?
A Canadian Coyote's Fur has different textures depending on the area of the Pelt that you are touching. The underbelly and the chest of the coyote are usually soft, and the back legs and head are a bit coarser. Coyote fur is highly cherished by Larpers and Medieval enthusiasts due to its soft texture, warmth, and blended tint.
Boris thinks the Roadrunner is softer than the coyote.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN YOUR ANIMAL BONES?
Our animal bones are cleaned using flesh-eating beetles. Dermestid beetles have been used for decades by museums to clean bones because of their unmatched ability to strip them without damaging even the smallest, most delicate specimens.
Boris keeps clean bones!

HOW DO YOU DISINFECT YOUR ANIMAL BONES?
Medieval Fur cleans the bones with a 50/50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water. We make sure that the bones are fully submerged to get a consistent color. Then we cover the bones loosely with a lid and let them sit for about 24 hours. After 24 hours, we inspect the bones for color consistency. Once we are happy with the result we rinse thoroughly in water and then let dry.
Boris is clean as a bone!

DOES THE CROW POSSESS MAGICAL POWERS?
The crow is a spirit animal associated with life mysteries and magic. The power of this bird as a totem and spirit guide provides insight and means of supporting intentions. A sign of luck is also associated with the archetype of the trickster; be aware of deceiving appearances.  If the crow has chosen you as your spirit or totem animal, it supports you in developing the power of sight, transformation, and connection with life’s magic.
Boris really knows his magic, he will put a spell on you!

WHY DO WE USE FURS AT LARPS?
Furs are not only warm and cozy but they also keep the roleplayer warm and protected from the elements. Furs are often used by actors portraying roles of Vikings and are used as a sign of opulence with kings and nobles. However, furs are generally used by everyone because of the comfort and beauty it provides the LARPer.
