THE MOOSE THE KING OF THE CANADIAN FOREST

The moose is the largest species of the deer family (elk, white-tailed deer, mule deer and caribou).

A bull can weigh up to 635 kg and the female can reach 350 kg. Its height at the shoulder is between 169 and 192 cm, with nearly 2 meters at the withers the moose is an imposing animal.

The male develops a plume of two antlers (up to 1.8 m span), which usually start growing in April. Between November and January, the antlers fall off. The moose has very poor eyesight, but has a keen sense of smell and hearing.
