This bone could easily be confused with a tibia but it is not! The are the elongated and fused metacarpal bones of the deer. It articulates with the tibia at the wrist/ankle. On both sides of this fused bone can be found the needle-like vestigial remnants of the 2 other metacarpals which have shrunk over the years of evolution and at the end of which are the dew claws.
These bones are purchased from hunters in Quebec/Canada
All our bones are the result of recycling every part of the animal’s carcass. Bones are used as costume elements, as decorations in your cabin or den, and as components of spells or personal accessories and quirks. As with everything else in our shop, they are ethical!
